Asbestos at Phillip Enclosed disrupts Canberra's sportsground availability, affecting Woden Valley Rams and Canberra Royals' seasons and events.
There was asbestos coming out of the ground at Phillip Enclosed.
It means Canberra's sportsground shortage has taken another hit, with the ACT government losing the home of the Woden Valley Rams and Canberra Royals for the coming Canberra Raiders Cup and John I Dent Cup seasons respectively.
It was also threatening to spoil the Rams' 60th birthday party this year after they'd hoped to have a festival of football at the end of May.
Both teams have been in talks with the government to find another home, with Boomanulla Oval in Narrabundah initially considered for both clubs.
