Billy Walters gives injury update, targets Round 16 2026 return from ACL injury

Billy Walters faces a two-month recovery after knee surgery, missing 2026 pre-season with heartbreak.

The Australian

Billy Walters will have two months to save his future at the Broncos after undergoing a knee reconstruction that will wipe out his 2026 pre-season.

Walters was the heartbreak story of Brisbane's historic premiership win this year, with the fan favourite tearing his ACL in their epic qualifying final defeat of the Raiders in Canberra.

The son of Broncos legend Kevin Walters would have been a certain starter in the NRL decider but was forced to watch their 26-22 grand final defeat of the Storm from the stands at Accor Stadium.

Walters delayed reconstructive surgery on his left knee to be part of Brisbane's premiership celebrations, a decision that will see the crafty hooker miss a few extra games of the 2026 premiership.
