Bulldogs coach Ciraldo challenged Bronson Xerri to earn his spot back after Xerri threatened to quit the team.
Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo took a swipe at Bronson Xerri's reaction to being dumped before openly challenging the star centre to force his way back into Canterbury's NRL side.
And Ciraldo could not give assurances Xerri would see out the final two years of his contract at Belmore.
Xerri created a furore this week by threatening to immediately quit the Bulldogs after being dumped to NSW Cup for this Saturday's away game against Canberra.
Earlier, Xerri had been told he wouldn't be re-signed and that he would now play right centre rather than his preferred left side.
Xerri was going to walk into Bulldogs headquarters and seek an immediate release before the drama was temporarily de-escalated after meeting Bulldogs general manager Phil Gould for breakfast on Sunday morning.
