Canterbury coach Cameron Ciraldo suffered a badly lacerated hand that required multiple stitches when the glass window shattered in his coaches box during the NRL match between the Bulldogs and Raiders at Canberra's GIO Stadium on Thursday night.

The incident occurred when a Bulldogs staffer tried to open the window after Bulldogs-back-rower scored the match-winning try in the 70th minute of the Bulldogs' win in the wet-weather slugfest to kick off Round 3.

As the staffer tried to open the window, it shattered, raining shards of glass down on Ciraldo, who was the only person injured.

He suffered two cuts which required needed stitches. The rest of the coaching staff in the box were naturally shocked by the incident.

"It's all right," Ciraldo said after the game.
