Bronson Xerri has started to monitor which NRL clubs may be interested in signing him while continuing to harbour an unwavering desire to leave Canterbury.

Xerri, 25, is chasing a strong performance in Saturday's NSW Cup game against Canberra to help the Bulldogs - and enhance his ability to find another club.

The Xerri drama continues to bubble with his looming exit from Belmore appearing inevitable.

Despite attempts from Canterbury to ease the situation, it is understood Xerri would consider seeking an immediate release if a club he wanted to represent expressed interest.

Rival clubs are unable to lodge any official offers given Xerri still has two years remaining on his Bulldogs contract.
