The NRL Bunker intervenes only in significant foul play, advising referees on serious unseen incidents.
The NRL Bunker will primarily intervene in instances of foul play during matches only when the incidents are deemed significant.
NRL CEO Andrew Abdo clarified that while players committing high tackles will face disciplinary actions, the Bunker will step in to advise referees only in serious cases that were not observed on the field.
Recently, 18 players were sin-binned during the ANZAC Round matches, with a few receiving penalties based on Bunker recommendations concerning earlier incidents.
