The Canberra Raiders are set to make a move to ensure Kaeo Weekes remains in the capital in what will be the young star's second contract extension in under 12 months.

Weekes inked a two-year extension with the club in September last year but coach Ricky Stuart is hopeful he can keep the young talent in the green jersey for a little while longer.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports the Raiders have agreed to a contract upgrade for the 23-year-old, with the deal set to make him one of the club's highest paid players.
