The North Queensland Cowboys have secured the services of playmaker Jake Clifford with a new contract extension, following his outstanding performance last weekend.

Clifford, who was a surprise addition to the team after Chad Townsend was dropped, put on a stellar show against the Canberra Raiders, leading his team to a resounding 42-4 victory.

Seizing the moment, Clifford seamlessly partnered with Tom Dearden in the halves, notching up two try assists and 197 running metres.

His impressive display not only solidified his claim to the starting halves position for the rest of the season but also earned him a one-year contract extension, keeping him in Townsville until the end of the 2025 NRL season.
