NRL Snakes and Ladders: Bulldogs land on a snake, Storm take a ladder to the top

Semi Valemei, a Cowboys winger, attracts Castleford Tigers' interest amid contract uncertainty.

Winger Semi Valemei, one of four North Queensland Cowboys players without a contract for the upcoming season, is reportedly attracting interest from another team. The six-time Fijian international has largely served as a backup since joining the Cowboys and is unlikely to remain with the team in 2026 as they aim to enhance their outside back lineup.

Valemei has appeared in just two matches this season, having played an additional 13 games since moving to Townsville from the Canberra Raiders mid-2023. Despite the limited playing time, the 26-year-old still possesses significant potential on the rugby league field.

There are now rumors linking him to the Castleford Tigers, who are looking to revamp their roster after a disappointing season. According to All Out Rugby League., the Tigers are eyeing Cowboys players as part of this transition.
