Andrew Johns has urged the NRL to consider a second team in New Zealand, fresh off the news of the Bears likely returning as the league's 18th team.
After plenty of back and forth, the ARL Commission has reportedly green-lit a Perth team, with the 2027 season seen as the likely entry date.
The new club will have ties to the North Sydney Bears and will see the competition expand their reach to Western Australia for the first time since the Super League war.
