The Canberra Raiders confirmed Ethan Sanders as the starting halfback for round one against Manly, with Matt Timoko expected to be fit despite recent injury concerns.
It's long been known, but the Canberra Raiders have confirmed for the first time who the starting halfback will be against Manly in round one.
Raiders assistant coach Brock Shepperd said Ethan Sanders would get first crack at the famous No.7 jersey for the trip to Brookvale on March 7.
In further good news for the Green Machine, New Zealand international Matt Timoko is expected to be fit to face the Sea Eagles, despite having a moon boot on during the past week.
He'll miss the Raiders' final pre-season trial - against an NRL-strength Cronulla at Gosford on Saturday - but Shepperd was confident he would be ready for round one.
