'It's a good opportunity': Raiders rookie set for first NRL start

Owen Pattie will make his NRL starting debut for the Raiders against the Roosters this Sunday.

Owen Pattie is set to make the first start of his NRL career, with Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart also confirming Hudson Young is good to go.

Pattie was named in the No.9 jersey for the first time - to face the Sydney Roosters at the Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday - having played the opening 12 games of his career off the bench.

But with regular Raiders starting hooker Tom Starling suspended for one week for dangerous contact, it's opened the door for Pattie to start.
