Canberra coach Ricky Stuart open to Jamal Fogarty leaving Raiders for Manly for family reasons.
Canberra coach Ricky Stuart has revealed he'd be happy for Jamal Fogarty to leave the Raiders for Manly if it was the best thing for his wife and kids. Fogarty is reportedly being targeted by the Sea Eagles to replace Daly Cherry-Evans after the Manly halfback announced 2025 will be his final year at the club.
Canberra have until Round 7 to activate a clause in Fogarty's contract that will keep him at the club on $650,000 in 2026. If the club doesn't take up the option, the halfback also has a player option that he can use before Round 20.
If neither party activities their end of the deal, Fogarty will become a free agent. Speaking to reporters on Saturday night after Canberra's loss to the Cowboys, coach Stuart revealed the honest conversation he had with his No.7.
