The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders Jersey Flegg Cup side were strong 42-20 winners over the Sharks on Sunday afternoon at GIO Stadium.
The Raiders jumped out to a strong start, leading 12-nil after the first five minutes through tries to Jordan Bunt and Jesse Milin.
Cronulla hit back with two tries of their own to tighten the scoreline but the Raiders held a comfortable 20-12 lead at the halftime break.
The Raiders scoreboard dried up for almost 50 minutes as Cronulla came back to level the score at 20-all with just over 20 minutes to go.
But the Raiders attack clicked as they piled on four tries in the last period to cruise to a 42-20 victory at home.
