Josh Papali'i has set his sights on playing in next year's World Cup, effectively ruling out a move to the English Super League for the Canberra Raiders great.

Despite helping inspire Queensland to a stunning State of Origin upset, Papali'i felt he wasn't good enough to represent Australia anymore - with either Samoa or the Cook Islands his options.

Papali'i felt his best chance of playing in the international rugby league show piece, which will be held in Australia next year, was to continue playing in the NRL.
