Having played alongside and against Laurie Daley, new Australia coach Kevvie Walters can see the similarities with Ethan Strange - the running game and the robust defence.
But he says Strange's hopes of being part of the Kangaroos' England tour will depend on his performances in the NRL finals.
It's a similar message for Strange's teammates like Hudson Young and Corey Horsburgh, who will no doubt be hopeful of being involved in the three-Test series at the end of the season.
