The latest stadium debacle has come at no great surprise to those who use it regularly - the Canberra Raiders, ACT Brumbies, their players and staff, and fans.

But the embarrassing horror stories of shattered glass and rain leaking into the change rooms is a sorry new chapter in this almost 20-year game of political football.

Here we are ahead of what is a blockbuster weekend of sport in Bruce - the marquee Brumbies v Waratahs on Friday night and then an NRL finals re-match between the Raiders and Sharks - and all we can talk about is the stadium.
