Manly CEO denies NRL anti-tampering after Stuart claims negotiations with Fogarty before contract deadline. Fogarty now free agent.
Manly CEO Tony Mestrov has denied breaching the NRL's anti-tampering rules after Ricky Stuart suggested the Sea Eagles had been negotiating with veteran halfback Jamal Fogarty before his contract clause deadline lifts.
Stuart finished his Saturday night press conference after the Raiders' 50-12 hammering of Parramatta referencing extensive reports of the Sea Eagles' plans to sign Fogarty as Daly Cherry-Evans' replacement.
As of Monday, Fogarty is a free agent, with Canberra allowing their club option to retain him for 2026 - at about $650,000 - to lapse, with plans to table a new one-year offer.
