Brisbane coach Maguire defends Reynolds against Hunt for preliminary final despite Hunt's winning streak.
Brisbane coach Michael Maguire has rubbished suggestions champion Broncos skipper Adam Reynolds should be snubbed in favour of Ben Hunt for Sunday's preliminary final blockbuster.
Maguire will name his extended squad on Tuesday and Reynolds has rocketed into the selection frame after training strongly last week testing the hamstring injury he first injured six weeks ago.
The versatile Ben Hunt has won five straight games as Reynolds' replacement at halfback, including Brisbane's epic 29-28 finals defeat of minor premiers Canberra, who sensationally went out the back door with their 32-12 loss to Cronulla on Saturday night.
Hunt blasted a winning 38-metre field goal in extra time which catapulted Brisbane to the grand-final qualifier and his flawless 5-0 record in the No.7 jumper has given Maguire a selection headache.
