Papua New Guinea fans steal the show after PM’s XIII crush Kumul counterparts

Kevin Walters celebrated a win in PNG, but Cory Horsburgh suffered a significant injury.

Kevin Walters' celebrated a double victory on his return to representative coaching in Port Moresby on Sunday afternoon. Walters, who arrived in Papua New Guinea with one eye on the upcoming Ashes Tour, led the Prime Minister's XIII team to a comprehensive win over the Kumuls.

More importantly though, he walked away from a trip to PNG with no injury concerns to worry about after his four Kangaroo tourists emerged unscathed from the 28-10 win before a full house of passionate Kumul supporters.

The only sombre note was an injury to Canberra forward Cory Horsburgh, who is set to spend his offseason rehabilitating after suffering what was feared to be a broken shoulder,

Horsburgh had won an award during the week for being the most enthusiastic tourist. He went home with his arm in a sling.
