Owen Pattie's journey from country Queensland to becoming a Canberra Raiders NRL player has been both rapid and driven by self-belief.

After making his debut in Round 1 in Las Vegas, the young dummy half has impressively not missed a game and is set to start for the first time against the Roosters due to Tom Starling's suspension.

At just 18, Pattie hails from the small town of Monto and recently graduated from St Brendan's College in Yeppoon, a recognized rugby league nursery.

He took a significant risk by moving approximately 1400km to Canberra to pursue his aspiration of playing in the NRL and ultimately representing the Queensland Maroons.
