Canberra sports fans are rallying around calls for a new stadium, with one "average bloke" leading the charge.
As of Monday afternoon, a petition calling for a new or renovated Canberra Stadium had almost 3000 signatures, with petition starter Matt Ward planning to take it to the Legislative Assembly when it's done.
He started it 10 days ago in the wake of Canterbury coach Cameron Ciraldo needing stitches after the Canberra Stadium coach's box window shattered when he tried to open it.
It's continued to gain momentum and was up to 2754 signatures at last count.
