The NRL minor premiers are pushing for a Sunday final in week one to give themselves the best possible preparation for the play-offs, as a former club captain's set to return to the capital following a nasty, career-ending injury.
Having already sewn up the minor premiership, the Raiders will host a qualifying final next weekend with their preference to play at Canberra Stadium on Sunday week.
That will give them a seven-day turnaround following their final-round game against the Dolphins at Redcliffe on Sunday.
