The Raiders addressed misinformation about a shattered window at Canberra Stadium, injuring Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo during the game.

The Canberra Times

The Raiders moved to quickly shut down misinformation over what caused a glass window to dangerously shatter at Canberra Stadium during an NRL game, amid frustration the club had warned the ACT government about safety risks for years.

The Bulldogs beat the Raiders 14-10 on Thursday night, but were left shocked and appalled at what unfolded prior to the full-time siren at Bruce, with Canterbury coach Cameron Ciraldo needing stitches for deep cuts to his hand.

Ciraldo may have woken up on Friday morning more irate after rumours began circulating accusing him of punching the glass window in the coach's box in the last 10 minutes of the game.

Ciraldo's own explanation, as first reported by The Canberra Times, was that he had tried to open the window because it was persistently fogging up. But he said the glass suddenly shattered in his hand, causing deep lacerations with glass spraying into his lap and outside onto the awning below the box.
