The Raiders offer Jamal Fogarty a two-year contract to stay, competing with Manly for replacement for Cherry-Evans.
The Raiders have tabled a two-year offer in a bid to keep halfback Jamal Fogarty in Canberra as the playmaker weighs up an offer to replace Daly Cherry-Evans on the northern beaches.
Manly had come knocking in a bid to sign Fogarty as a replacement for Cherry-Evans, who has declared his intention to leave the Sea Eagles at the end of the NRL season.
The Raiders had opted against triggering a one-year option worth about $650,000, but have instead moved to construct a two-year contract reportedly worth up to $1 million.
