Bronson Xerri faces being dropped for Enari Tuala, seeking immediate release from Bulldogs after disappointing communication about his position.
Disgruntled Canterbury centre Bronson Xerri was told he would be dropped for Enari Tuala late last week for Thursday nights clash against the Raiders in Canberra.
It's understood Xerri was lucky to hold his position in Las Vegas for the season opener, leading to this masthead revealing the 25-year-old was set to seek an immediate release from the club on Saturday.
Xerri was told late last week that he would not be starting for the Bulldogs in Round 3, with Tuala spending their bye week training in the centres instead.
This masthead can confirm there had been initial talks of a player swap deal between Xerri, and Penrith centre Izack Tago, but those conversations weren't initiated by the Bulldogs.
The NRL is also set to have conversations around Bulldogs CEO Phil Gould's communication about the disgruntled star, admitting on X he had spoken with Xerri's agent on Saturday.
