The Roosters are seeking salary cap relief for Angus Crichton who has been sidelined due to mental illness — and the NRL360 panel butted heads over the Tricolours’ move.

The gun backrower will not be able to train for at least 10 weeks, before an assessment on his wellbeing will be carried out.

Crichton’s father last week revealed why his son was taking time away from rugby league, revealing: “I can confirm today that Angus is under appropriate professional support and treatment for medically diagnosed bipolar disorder which he has been dealing with for some time”.
