Channel 9 faces criticism for airing low-stakes games instead of top teams during finals.

Channel 9 stands accused of an embarrassing TV scheduling bungle in the run home to the finals with a blackout of the top six clubs in the marquee 4pm Sunday timeslot.

Sunday afternoon footy on Nine in the crucial final six rounds of the competition will feature only two top-eight sides - the Cronulla Sharks and the Dolphins.

Free-to-air viewers have instead been left with a schedule of also rans v also rans.

Premiership heavyweights the Panthers, Storm, Raiders, Bulldogs, Broncos and Warriors have all been overlooked at the business end of the year.
