Stuart on standby for Raiders debut while ex-Wallaby closes in for Roosters

Raiders give Hopoate chance, Stuart may debut as injury places doubt on Hopoate's fitness.

The Canberra Raiders will give Albert Hopoate every chance to prove his fitness after he was consigned to a moon boot which could open the door for Jed Stuart to make his NRL debut.

Hopoate has been named on the wing for a must-win game against the Sydney Roosters at the Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday.

But the Canberra flyer was spotted in a moon boot at club headquarters, with Stuart waiting in the wings after being named 18th man for a clash which could make or break the Raiders' finals ambitions.
