Super Sunday: Samoa singing after the rain

Tonga XIII faced Toa Samoa, with Samoa winning 34-6, reaching the final.

The Cauldron came alive on Sunday when Tonga XIII and Toa Samoa collided in one of the most eagerly anticipated matches of 2025.

Just four weeks after Suncorp Stadium was bursting at the seams for the epic Broncos-Panthers preliminary final, the atmosphere was again electric as the Pacific powerhouses put it all on the line in a battle for bragging rights.

With 44,682 fans in the house and 60 minutes gone in the game an electrical storm hit Brisbane and the players were forced from the field.

After a 90-minute delay it was Samoa who came out firing as they turned a 16-0 lead into a 34-6 victory that guarantees their spot in the final on November 9.
