ARL Commission chairman Peter V'landys has launched an audacious bid to get United States President Donald Trump in the stands to watch rugby league after issuing an eyebrow-raising invite on prime-time breakfast television in America.

The Australian rugby league season will return to Las Vegas for the second time in two years when four teams play their season-opener in the gambling mecca next weekend.

V'Landys - known for his bold ambitions be it in racing or rugby league - wants Trump in the stands with him for an NRL extravaganza.
