GIO Stadium: Benji Marshall remembers his first coach Tim Sheens encouraging him to play what he sees, to trust his instinct - and that was exactly the same message he preached to Wests Tigers debutant playmaker Lachie Galvin.

Marshall's first game as head coach of the Tigers ended in a 32-12 loss to the Raiders on Saturday.

But Marshall will enjoy coaching 18-year-old Galvin who more than held his own against the men.

The tall teen had a few nice kicks, absorbed plenty of brutal shots, and was the one Tiger pushing for points late in the game at GIO Stadium.
