Canberra Liberals demand an independent audit of Canberra Stadium after a safety incident, highlighting infrastructure concerns under ACT Labor.
The Canberra Liberals will turn up the heat on the ACT government and call for a full independent condition and safety audit of Canberra Stadium after WorkSafe ACT was called into the venue in the wake of an embarrassing month for the city's premier sporting venue.
Talks have started about pushing the ACT government to green light a full independent condition and safety audit of the 49-year-old stadium as the fallout from an incident that left an NRL coach requiring stitches continues.
Worksafe ACT - who enforce safety laws, inspect sites, and investigate serious incidents - officials have confirmed staff were called to the venue following the incident which put Canberra Stadium back in the spotlight.
It is understood the Liberals want answers about glazing panels, inspection and maintenance routines, identification of defects, work health and safety assessments, leaks, mould and air quality testing.
