Sin bins weren’t the only controversial calls in the [Dolphins and Raiders] match, with a contentious try awarded to Dolphins forward Tom Gilbert when they trailed late in the second half.
After putting the grubber through, Gilbert appeared to put hands on Raider Matthew Timoko in the chase into the in-goal.
“You can’t put hands in there!” Dan Ginnane lamented.
“Normally when hands are involved, it doesn’t end well for the attacker.”
But Ginnane and Shane Flanagan were left shocked moments later when the try was awarded by the bunker.
“Oh it’s confirmed! It is confirmed! Boy oh boy,” Ginnane said.
