Wayne Bennett refused to shake hands with Brad Fittler, but later showed class with Dolphins players.
Wayne Bennett was in no mood to shake hands with (or fist-bump) Brad Fittler before the Rabbitohs' win on Friday night, but showed his class with a brilliant gesture for the Dolphins players afterwards. Bennett continued a cheeky years-long feud with Fittler when he refused a fist-bump offered by the Channel 9 commentator after a pre-game interview.
Fittler said to the master-coach: "Haven't had to shake hands for a while but how about a fist-bump?" Bennett simply turned away and said "see ya mate" before walking off with a wry smile.
The playful feud dates back to 2019 when Bennett first refused to shake hands with Fittler, and the coach has snubbed the NRL great a number of times since then. There's been about five separate occasions where Fittler has offered his hand to Bennett for a shake, only to be completely ignored.
