Jack Wighton is the latest NRL star to be engulfed in an ugly referee exchange after accusing an official of trying hard to allow a rival team to win.
Wighton, who was penalised for a high tackle on Starford To'a in the dying moments of the Raiders' contentious 22-18 win over the Tigers on Sunday, has been charged by the match review committee for a comment he made towards referee Peter Gough.
In the exchange, Wighton said: You're trying hard to give this to them. You're trying hard. That was a good tackle.
Gough responds to Wighton by saying: If you want to stay on the field, stop.
