Ricky Stuart's proposal for a triple-header finals event in Canberra was rejected by authorities.
Ricky Stuart's dream of Canberra hosting three different grades in a super Sunday of finals action will remain just that, as Raiders fans rushed to snap up the hottest ticket in town.
The Raiders coach revealed on the weekend that he and club chief executive Don Furner wanted Canberra to host the NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg semi-finals, as well as the NRL qualifying final at Bruce on Sunday afternoon, in a throwback to the Green Machine's glory years.
However, after talks with the NRL and NSW Rugby League, the Raiders' proposal of a triple-header headlined by the clash with the Brisbane Broncos was shot down.
