Hull Kingston Rovers appear set to use their final quota spot after securing a deal for Canberra Raiders' Brad Schneider. Rugby League Live can confirm the club is confident of completing a loan deal for the halfback that will see him join for the remainder of the season.
It is a timely boost for the Robins, with the club growing increasingly confident that paperwork will be signed off that will allow him to arrive this week. A halfback, Schneider has made 12 NRL appearances for the Raiders and has been a regular in the NSW Cup. Last year was his breakthrough year down under, playing in the halves on ten occasions for the Raiders, partnering with one of the biggest names in the game, Jack Wighton.
Rovers have had to work hard to get a deal over the line, with Schneider on the cusp of playing for the Raiders in recent weeks. He was the 18th man for their game against Gold Coast Titans this weekend. However, they have finally managed to have made a big breakthrough, which is an impressive piece of work given the lack of halfbacks currently available across the globe.
