Sophie Holyman braves early morning training despite freezing temperatures, aiming for Raiders' first finals campaign.
When Queensland State of Origin star Sophie Holyman rolls up to training before 6am at the Raiders' headquarters in Braddon and her car reads the outside temperature as minus 2 degrees, you wouldn't blame her for wanting to turn back and go home.
Outside it's dark, there's frost all over the field, and the gym at the Raiders' facility frankly isn't as warm and welcoming as a doona in bed.
But the Raiders NRLW team have embraced the grind of pre-season by implementing three morning gym sessions a week on top of their regular afternoon training schedules in the hopes it pushes them towards their first finals campaign.
