    They call this an April Fool's joke. We call it ... genius. Imagine turning up to a Brumbies or Raiders game with a view like this? Talk about iconic.

    And the best part of this DNA Architects mock-up is that even though it was pitched as a prank, it's actually possible if the ACT government stops dragging its feet and gets creative.

    Before everyone gets in a tizz - yes, we know this was an April fool's joke and, yes, in this AI age stadium concepts are a dime a dozen. And we know the ACT government has the Bruce blinkers on and says it won't consider Civic as a viable option, despite the existing stadium crumbling around us.

    After complaints of bad smells, leaky roofs, poor Wi-Fi, smashed glass and years of frustration from fans, the ACT Government has finally announced plans for a redeveloped Canberra Stadium in 2056.

    The state of Canberra Stadium has been in the spotlight recently, with Raiders coach Ricky Stuart summing up the thoughts of many locals by describing it as "sh!thou$e".

    The project is currently in "early pre-consultation consultation phase", with the government set to seek community feedback as early as 2038. Once that feedback is immediately disregarded, a thorough review of the consultation phase will be conducted in 2046, with construction set to begin in 2050.

    Knights expected to name key duo for Raiders clash amid injury concerns

    Fletcher Sharpe and Phoenix Crossland are likely to play for the Newcastle Knights against the Canberra Raiders this Sunday.

    The Newcastle Knights are expected to name both Fletcher Sharpe and Phoenix Crossland for their Round 5 clash with the Canberra Raiders this weekend.

    Teams will be confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, but early indications are that both players will be named for the home clash, played in the 4pm Sunday slot.

    Crossland played through a broken nose during the game against the Canterbury Bulldogs on the weekend, and, per The Newcastle Herald is understood to have passed all concussion related tests since.

    The utility, who has started the year at hooker and continues to be one of Newcastle's most crucial players, is likely to start at dummy half in the game against Canberra.
