  • The subtle change Eighth Immortal Andrew Johns wants Raiders young gun to make

    David Polkinghorne

Andrew Johns suggested Ethan Strange shift to right edge, adjusting ball-handling for improved performance after four games this season.

    The Canberra Times

He's the Eighth Immortal for a reason. So when Andrew Johns speaks, you listen.

And it seems Ethan Strange already has, with the boom Canberra Raiders five-eighth having already started work on a slight tweak to his game that Johns suggested.

Ricky Stuart pinpoints Raiders ‘problem’ after Sharks defeat

Canberra Raiders start 2026 season poorly, with one win and three losses after a 34-22 defeat to Cronulla Sharks.

    Zero Tackle

The Canberra Raiders have endured a frustrating start to their 2026 campaign, slipping to one win and three losses after a 34-22 defeat to the Cronulla Sharks on Sunday afternoon.

Their latest setback was shaped early, with prop Corey Horsburgh sin-binned in just the third minute.

The early dismissal proved costly, as Canberra conceded 12 points during his absence and was forced to chase the game from the outset.

    Chris Dutton

Mal Meninga urges the federal government to upgrade Canberra Stadium, envisioning it as a premier sporting venue for Australia.

    The Canberra Times

The man whose name sits atop a leaky Canberra Stadium grandstand is keen for the federal government to take charge and create "something special" in a revived sporting precinct in Bruce.

Canberra Raiders legend Mal Meninga has weighed into the calls for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to help fast-track the stalled stadium project in the capital.

The Meninga Stand is the main player, fan, corporate and hospitality section at Canberra Stadium, but it has been plagued by issues as the structure struggles to keep up with modern standards.

Meninga said he was not personally affronted by the leaking concrete or shattered glass in a stand bearing his name, but was passionate about the need for upgrades or a brand-new venue as part of an AIS revitalisation.
