    Rivals Deny Lomax Signing Speculation

Canberra Raiders CEO denies interest in signing Zac Lomax, confirming no contact or roster plans.

    LeagueNews.co

Canberra Raiders CEO Don Furner has clarified that the club has no interest in signing Zac Lomax, contrary to recent speculation. Reports emerged from the Supreme Court indicating that the Raiders were one of three teams vying for the NSW representative's signature after he left the Parramatta Eels.

However, the Raiders have quickly dismissed these claims, asserting that they have not made any contact with the talented outside-back. Lomax recently exited his four-year contract with the Eels after just one year, which has fueled rumors that he may join the new rebel competition, R360.

With the launch of R360 postponed until 2028, Lomax finds himself in a difficult position with few options available for the immediate future. According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the Raiders are not in a position to pursue Lomax and have no plans to include him in their roster.

"Nobody has spoken about him, he's never been mentioned," Furner stated. "We haven't got any space in the cap, and we're not looking for outside backs. I don't know how they can make that up. That's a lie."

“That’s a lie”: Rivals slam Lomax speculation after being linked in legal battle

Canberra Raiders CEO Don Furner denied any interest in signing Zac Lomax, stating the club won't pursue him despite earlier speculation surrounding his contract situation.

Canberra Raiders CEO Don Furner has set the record straight, claiming his club has had no interest in signing Zac Lomax.

It was revealed in the Supreme Court that the Raiders were one of the three teams looking to sign the NSW representative after leaving the Parramatta Eels.

This comes after Lomax broke out of his four-year contract with the Eels after 12 months, with speculation mounting that he was going to sign with rebel competition R360.

With R360's launch being delayed until 2028, it has left Lomax in limbo with limited options until then.

‘Factually incorrect’: Bears and Raiders deny Lomax link

Canberra and Perth denied interest in Zac Lomax amid legal disputes involving his potential signing for 2026.

    LeagueNews.co

Canberra and Perth have refuted claims regarding their interest in signing Zac Lomax. These denials surfaced after Lomax's lawyer reportedly presented both clubs as potential options for the star winger during a court hearing with Parramatta.

The legal dispute involving the Eels and Lomax took center stage at the Supreme Court, where the first of two directions hearings took place on Friday. A notable disclosure revealed that by Christmas Eve, Lomax's lawyer had indicated that three teams might be interested in acquiring him for the 2026 season.

Parramatta, Lomax's previous club, has initiated legal proceedings in the NSW Supreme Court. They aim to prevent the talented center from signing with the Storm after his release last year, intending to join the now postponed Rugby 360 competition.

"On the evidence that we've got from the production material, there was contact made by his lawyer with the club to propose three different clubs for Mr Lomax to go to potentially," stated Arthur Moses, the barrister representing Parramatta.
