The Parramatta Eels kept their faint NRLW finals hopes alive with an 18-16 win over the Canberra Raiders at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.

If incoming ACT Brumbies women's coach Andy Friend wants to start luring rugby union stars back from rugby league, he could do worse than consider Mahalia Murphy.

The Parramatta back-rower - who has represented the Wallaroos and Australia's sevens team - scored the opening try and boasts a long ball any forward would yearn to have in their arsenal.
