Raiders suffer loss to Roosters in Indigenous Round

Canberra Raiders lost 44-16 to Sydney Roosters, despite scoring a try during Indigenous Round.

The Canberra Raiders suffered a 44-16 defeat to the Sydney Roosters at home in Indigenous Round.

The Raiders returned home to GIO Stadium Canberra for the match against the Roosters in Joseph Tapine's 200th NRL game. 

Roosters second-rower Victor Radley was quick to secure first points, with the away side taking an early 6-0 lead.

With plenty of opportunity to attack early, Luke Keary crossed the line soon after, confirmed as a Penalty try, to extend their lead to 12-0. 

The Raiders were able to bounce back minutes after, with winger Nick Cotric successfully planting the ball over the try-line. The Raiders reducing their deficit to six points, 12-6.
