‘Toddy taught me how to be a professional’: Croker’s tribute to Carney before 300th Raiders game

Jarrod Croker has identified former wild child Todd Carney as the first person who taught him how to be a professional sportsman.

Carney and Croker, who celebrates 300 games for the Raiders on Friday evening, have known each other for more than 20 years, since they were youngsters growing up in Goulburn.

Now 37 and running league programs for disadvantaged youngsters on the Gold Coast, Carney will be one of the thousands of fans who pack into GIO Stadium to celebrate Croker's special occasion and will be spending the night at his former teammate's home after the game.
