‘Bulls**t, just fix it’: Fuming Ricky Stuart puts Raiders on notice with ‘end of season holidays’ blast

Ricky Stuart criticized his players after the Raiders' error-filled loss to the Tigers, jeopardizing their minor premiership defense.

    Fox League

Ricky Stuart was fuming at his players over their error-prone ways after they let a 14-10 lead slip to go down to the Tigers 33-14 in Round 8 at Leichhardt Oval.

It means the Raiders face finishing the round in third-last and six points adrift of the top four as their minor premiership defence already looks all but over.

The Raiders had nine errors against the Tigers and completed 28 of 36 sets at 78 per cent and had just 33 per cent territory and 46 per cent possession in the six tries to two defeat.

And a frustrated Stuart put his players on notice in his post match press conference.

  • She could have been a Capital or a Raider. Now she makes Test rugby history

    Caden Helmers

Michaela Leonard, a rugby star, is set to become Australia's most-capped Wallaroo, surpassing Ashley Marsters with her 47th Test.

    The Canberra Times

Where do you start with Michaela Leonard? Maybe with the kid who grew up dreaming about the Capitals. Or the time she played for a Raiders team and stood arm-in-arm with Brad Fittler. Maybe her first game of rugby, which just happened to be for the ACT Brumbies at Canberra Stadium.

Or maybe you start on the Sunshine Coast, where Leonard is poised to become the most-capped Wallaroo of all time when Australia face New Zealand on Anzac Day.

"I played a game before I watched a game," Leonard said. "It was an absolute whirlwind from day one."

Leonard will surpass Ashley Marsters record when she plays her 47th Test for the Wallaroos this weekend. When she tells you it feels "pretty surreal", you have to believe her.

Ethan Strange exits Tigers clash with injury as Daine Laurie makes Raiders debut

Ethan Strange suffered an ankle injury, adding to the Raiders' growing injury list during their match against the Wests Tigers.

    The Australian

The Canberra Raiders have suffered a fresh injury blow with five-eighth Ethan Strange taken from the field with an ankle injury in the opening minutes of their round 8 clash with Wests Tigers.

Strange injured his left ankle in the opening exchanges of the Leichhardt Oval showdown, but was eventually replaced by Daine Laurie after the Tigers opened the scoring via winger Luke Laulilii.

The Raiders have already suffered a number of injuries this season with Simi Sasagi (hamstring), Josh Papalii (calf) and Xavier Savage (ankle) all absent from tonight's clash.

It also appeared as if Noah Martin was going to be added to this list, after an Api Koroisau hip-drop tackle left him writhing in pain.

The Raider recovered to stay on the field, but the Tigers star was sent to the sin-bin and could face more at the judiciary.
