    Ethan Sanders faces the tough task of replacing the minor premiership-winning halfback, but predecessor Jamal Fogarty has set him up to take over the Green Machine's reins.

    The 21-year-old also hosed down assumptions the Canberra Raiders No.7 jersey is already his for round one.

    With Fogarty joining Manly in the off-season, Sanders is the heir apparent as Raiders halfback, with 19-year-old Coby Black the only other halfback in the 30-man squad.

    Chevy Stewart avoided conviction for damaging a poker machine, receiving a 12-month conditional release.

    Canberra Raiders young gun Chevy Stewart has avoided conviction for pouring a beer on a poker machine, but has been put on a 12-month conditional release order.

    Stewart appeared in Sutherland Local Court on Thursday where he was found guilty of damaging property on a night out in Cronulla in September.

    The 20-year-old was at Cronulla nightclub Northies on September 26 when he poured a beer on a poker machine.
