The Perth Bears will reportedly sign out-of-favour Raiders forward Corey Horsburgh with the Brisbane Broncos ruled out of the chase due to salary cap pressure. This comes as Jacob Preston's agent has revealed the offer from the Bulldogs was well away from what they expected with the second-rower potentially going to the open NRL market.
Raiders coach Ricky Stuart made headlines this week after his post-match spray of Horsburgh having labelled his sin bin in the loss to the Knights as a 'brain explosion'. Horsburgh was left out of the Raiders squad to take on the Sharks this weekend after Stuart copped some backlash for his strongly worded press conference.
The Broncos were floated as a potential suitor for Horsburgh with the club having lost Payne Haas to the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Corey Jensen to retirement. Although the Bears have acted quickly reportedly set to confirm the Horsburgh deal as their latest signing.
