Bulldog’s Bite: Tigers, Eels and Bulldogs are failing western Sydney with dismal 2026 campaigns

Wests Tigers, Canterbury, and Parramatta are struggling, underperforming in rugby league with dismal records this season.

The Australian

Wests Tigers are a mess, Canterbury stinks, and Parramatta has become a transit lounge.

What the hell has happened to these three once-powerful western Sydney underachievers?

These three clubs represent the demographic engine of rugby league - yet all are bumbling along with Wests Tigers and Parramatta embarrassingly out of finals contention by mid-July.

Despite being whacked by Canberra on Saturday night, Canterbury can still play finals footy but they have as much chance of winning this year's grand final as I do of winning weightlifting gold at the LA Olympics.

The three clubs spread across vast western Sydney have won just 20 of 50 games between them this season and conceded a total of 100 points over the weekend.
