Cherrington spear tackle results in NRLW’s second send-off

Kennedy Cherrington became just the second NRLW player in history to be sent off when she was given her marching orders for a spear tackle in Sunday's grand final rematch against the Knights.

Cherrington was sent off in the 43rd minute of the game, reducing the already struggling Eels to just 12 players, after tipping Knights forward Laishon Albert-Jones on her head.

Referee Belinda Sharpe marched Cherrington just two weeks after Ashleigh Werner became the first NRLW player to be sent off for biting Roosters winger Jayme Fressard.
